Andrew Edgar Named New Women's Golf Coach

BEREA, Ohio- Baldwin Wallace University Director of Athletics Kris Diaz '78 has announced the hiring of Andrew Edgar as the University's next women's golf coach.

"We are excited to have Andrew taking over the women's golf program" said Diaz. "He brings a wealth of golf experience from his days at the high school level that should transition well to BW. We hope that Coach Edgar can continue to take the program to the next level."

Edgar comes to BW after serving as the Lake Ridge Academy varsity golf coach for the last 13 years, including an appearance at the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) state tournament in 2010. He also coached the middle school basketball team from 2003-2019, and served as the middle school track and field coach from 2007-2016.

Off the course, Edgar served as a cross-divisional physical education teacher in the Lake Ridge Academy school system and is a specialist in the lower and middle schools. He also taught upper school health.

"I am very excited to become part of the Baldwin Wallace University family and appreciate the opportunity to serve as head coach of the BW women's golf team" said Edgar. "I look forward to working with the student-athletes and seek to utilize my experience and the support of others to continue building the program and elevating it to the next level." 

Edgar received a Bachelor of Art in physical education teacher education (PETE) from Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana.

Edgar and his wife, Stori, have five children and reside in Elyria.
