GRINNELL, Iowa -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's track and field team finished in a tie for 13th place at the 2016 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championship Meet inside the Bear Recreation and Athletic Center at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa.
The Yellow Jackets scored 13 points to finish tied for 13th of 34 teams and had a pair of individual All-Americans.
Highlighting the competition for BW were senior weight thrower Tyler Burdorff (Painesville/ Riverside) and freshman sprinter Jordan Leverette (Cleveland/ John Hay). Both Yellow Jackets had career-best performances and earned All-American honors.
Burdorff placed second in the weight throw with a career-best throw of 62'7.5". He entered the competition ranked eighth in Division III and bettered his previous best of 59'5.75". Burdorff, who made his fourth appearance in a Division III national championship meet, earned his first Division III All-America honor for his efforts.
Leverette finished fourth in the 200-meter dash with a school-record time of 21.96 seconds. He also earned his first All-America accolade. In his Friday preliminary heat, Leverette tied his own previous school record with a 22.06-second timing. Leverette entered the meet ranked ninth in the 200 meters and definitely exceeded all expectations.
