Men’s Tennis Takes Down the Raiders; Advances to OAC Semifinals

MEDINA, Ohio - The No. 4 seeded Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team took down No. 5 seeded University of Mount Union in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament Quarterfinals by a final score of 5-0 at Paramount Tennis Club

With the victory, BW advances to the OAC Semifinals and will face No. 1 seeded Otterbein University.

Doubles (BW, 3-0)

  • Sophomore All-OAC Matt McGee (Ottawa Hills) and senior All-OAC Trey Kernan (Penfield, N.Y.) defeated Ryan McClure/Colton Mace, 8-4
  • Freshman Will Horvath (Oregon / Clay) and sophomore Adam Zeidler (Bay Village) beat Tyler Cargould/Holden Schmid , 8-2
  • Sophomore Caleb Reed (Wilmington) and freshman Jacob Weingart (Tiffin / Columbian) defeated Adam McMillen/Elliot Warner, 8-3

Singles (BW, 2-0)

  • Zeidler beat Tyler Cargould, 6-3, 6-1
  • Freshman Gavin Binni (Sylvania / Northview) defeated Adam McMillen, 6-1, 6-0
  • Kernan was on a roll vs Holden Schmid, 6-1, 5-2 before the match was called when BW picked up their fifth point.

 The No. 4 seeded Yellow Jackets are back in action on Friday, April 28 when they take on No. 1 seeded Otterbein University at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio.
