Men's Tennis Claims Victory Over Albion (Mich.)

ALBION, Mich. - The Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team claimed a victory over Albion (Mich.) College in the first match back home after a successful spring break trip. The final score of the win was 7-2. 

Singles Play (5-1)

  • Sophomore All-OAC Matt McGee (Ottawa Hills) defeated Brett Gurzell, 7-5, 6-4
  • Freshman Will Horvath (Oregon / Clay) defeated Brendan Morrison, 6-2, 6-2
  • Senior All-OAC Trey Kernan (Penfield, N.Y.) defeated Drake Malcolm, 4-6, 6-4, 6-0
  • Freshman Jacob Weingart (Tiffin / Columbian) fell to Josh Doyle, 6-3, 6-4
  • Freshman Gavin Binni (Sylvania / Northview) defeated Jacob Doyle, 6-1, 6-1
  • Freshman Henry Harders (Ottawa Hills) defeated Brandon Blake, 6-2, 6-0 

Doubles Play (2-1)

  • McGee and Kernan defeated Gurzell/ Morrison, 8-3
  • Horvath and Weingart defeated Malcolm/ Blake, 8-2
  • Harders and sophomore Caleb Reed (Wilmington) fell to Doyle/Doyle, 3-8

BW (11-0) returns to action for their first spring home match on Saturday, March 25 when they host to Westminster (Pa.) to double-header at 11:00 a.m. on the Pop Collins Tennis Courts
