Men's Tennis Drops OAC Match to John Carroll

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team dropped an Ohio Athletic Conference match to crosstown rival John Carroll University by a final score of 7-2 on the Pop Collins Tennis Courts

Doubles (JCU, 2-1)

  • Sophomore All-OAC Matt McGee (Ottawa Hills) and senior All-OAC Trey Kernan (Penfield, N.Y.) lost to Langovsky/Sarnowski, 3-8 
  • Freshman Will Horvath (Oregon / Clay) and sophomore Adam Zeidler (Bay Village) defeated Markello/Palinkas, 8-7 
  • Sophomore Caleb Reed (Wilmington) and freshman Jacob Weingart (Tiffin / Columbian) fell to Wacnik/Gorun 4-8 

Singles (JCU, 5-1)

  • McGee fell to Logan Langovsky, 1-6, 4-6
  • Horvath defeated Grant Sarnowski, 6-4, 6-4
  • Kernan suffered a close defeat to Anthony Markello, 7-6, 4-6, 4-10 
  • Zeidler fell to Kevin Wacnik, 6-3, 2-6, 6-7 
  • Weingart fell to Nathan Palinkas, 0-6, 3-6 
  • Binni fell to Phillip Gorun, 1-6, 1-6 

 BW (14-2, 2-2 OAC) is back in action on Thursday, April 20 for a rescheduled OAC match against Ohio Northern University on the Pop Collins Tennis Courts at 3:30 p.m.
