Men’s Soccer Draws with No. 14 Mount Union

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team played to a draw against the No. 14 University of Mount Union in the Ohio Athletic Conference home-opener with a final score of 2-2 on the Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium. 

BW Leaders (5-5-2, 1-0-1 OAC)
  • Sophomore midfielder Mathew Skladany (Cleveland / St. Edward) scored a goal in the 17th minute 
  • Sophomore foward Mike Kane (Kent / Hudson) provided the assist for Skladany in the first half
Mount Union Leaders (9-1-1, 0-1-1 OAC)
  • Senior midfielder Emilio Spetic scored a goal in the 9th minute 
  • Senior forward Jamon McCort provided the assist for Spetic in the first half 
 First Half 
  • Mount Union outshot the Yellow Jackets 8-5 
  • Senior forward Julian Kieres (Lakewood) scored a goal in the 37th minute 
  • Mount Union won the corner kick battle by a 4-1 margin 
 Second Half  
  • The Yellow Jackets and Mount Union each had two saves 
  • Mount Union outshot BW 11-6 
  • Mount Union made four corners on BW's two 

BW is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 7 as it travels to Wilmington College for an OAC contest on Townsend Field at Williams Stadium at 2 p.m.
