BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team fell short in the non-conference match to Geneva (Pa.) College by a final score of 2-1 at Reeves Field.
BW Leaders (0-2-1)
- Sophomore forward Mike Kane (Kent /Hudson) scored the Yellow Jacket only goal at the 3-:44 mark
- Sophomore goalkeeper Sam Cipriano (Massillon / Jackson) recorded four saves.
Geneva (Pa.) Leaders (1-1)
- Junior defender Dominic Sambuco found the back of the net f the double assist from Kyle Lapoure & Darren Mainat 2:29
- Junior defender Ian Tweed scored the game-winning unassisted goal at the 70:52 mark
First Half (1-1)
- The Yellow Jackets and Golden Tornadoes each took six shot
- Geneva won the corner kick battle by a margin of 2-0
- The Yellow Jackets and Golden Tornadoes each ahd two saves
Second Half (2-1)
- BW outshot Geneva by a margin of 7-5
- The Yellow Jackets took the save advantage with a 2-1 mark
- The Golden Tornadoes led the corner kicker game by a count of 6-0
BW returns for its first home appearance of the season on Saturday, Sept. 9 when it hosts a non-conference game against Bluffton University on the Tressel Field inside the Geprge Finnie Stadium at 7 p.m.
