Men’s Soccer Falls to Allegheny (Pa.) in Morgan’s Message Game

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team was defeated by Allegheny (Pa.) College in a non-conference and Morgan's Message game by a final score of 2-0 on the Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium.

Morgan's Message strives to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health within the student-athlete community and equalize the treatment of physical and mental health in athletics. We aim to expand the dialogue on mental health by normalizing conversations, empowering those who suffer in silence, and supporting those who feel alone.

BW Leaders (2-3-1)

  • Sophomore goalkeeper Sam Cipriano (Massillon/Jackson) faced 17 shots, including nine on goal, and allowed two goals with six saves

Allegheny Leaders (1-3)

  • Junior forward Darius Googe and junior defender Brady Napoleon each scored a goal
  • Sophomore defender Renen Frank tallied an assist
  • Sophomore netminder Caleb Kendra faced 20 shots, including eight on goal, and did not allow a goal with eight saves

Second Half (All, 2-0)

  • 54:36   Googe breakaway goal assisted by Frank
  • 60:40   Napoleon free kick unassisted goal

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, September 16 when they host a non-conference game against Waynesburg (Pa.) University at 7 p.m.
