BW ATHLETICS INFORMATION: Trypp Washington III played his third season of football at Baldwin Wallace University in 2016-2017.The two-year starter at free safety and kick return specialist earned his third varsity letter.

THROUGH-THE-YEARS:  As a freshman in 2014-2015, Trypp  played his first season of football and earned his first varsity letter. He saw action in all 10 varsity games at strong safety and returned kickoffs. Trypp  had 21 total tackles, including eight solo stops, one tackle for lost yardage, two interceptions and four additional pass breakups. He returned 13 kickoffs for a 20.8-yard average with a long return of 38 yards. BW finished 5-5 overall.

As a sophomore in 2015-2016, Trypp played his second season of football and earned his second letter. The starting strong safety was one of BW's top defensive players. He also returned punts and kickoffs. Tripp started all 10 games and was fourth on the team with 63 tackles, including 38 solo stops and one tackle for loss. He also had one interception and six total pass breakups. He returned 14 kickoffs for a 16.8-yard average with a long return of 33 yards, and he returned four punts for an 8.0-yard average with a long return of 16 yards. BW finished 7-3 overall.

As a junior in 2016-2017, Trypp playedg his third season of football and earned his third varsity letter. He played in all 10 games and started at free safety for the second straight year, and returned both punts and kickoffs. On defense, Trypp was second on the team with a career-high 61 tackles, including four for loss (25 yards). He led the team with three interceptions and was second with six total pass breakups. Trypp also forced one fumble, recovered a fumble and blocked a kick. BW finished 3-7 overall.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION: Trypp Washington grew up in Orlando, Florida and graduated from The First Academy of Orlando/ Lake Mary Prep.

Trypp played football and ran track. In football, he was a Metro Conference All-Star. On defense, he had 77 tackles, including 51 solo tackles, six tackles for loss, one quarterback sack, three interceptions, one caused fumble and four fumble recoveries, including one he returned for a 58-yard TD. On offense, he had 52 carries for 331 yards and four TD's and six receptions for 52 yards and two scores.

In track, he was a Florida state champion.
