ACADEMIC MAJOR: Biology/ Pre-Med

BW ATHLETICS INFORMATION:   John McElfresh played four seasons of football at Baldwin Wallace University (2013-2016). He earned three varsity letters, contributed to the varsity for four years and was a key member of the linebacker rotation for the third straight year.

CAREER SYNOPSIS:  John played four years of football and earned three varsity letters. He saw varsity action in 34 games at either inside or outside linebacker. He also started several games. John had 88 career tackles, including 5.5 for loss (16 yards) and one quarterback sack (10 yards), and intercepted a pass. He also saw action on special teams. BW had a 21-19 record during John's four seasons on the varsity.

THROUGH-THE-YEARS:  As a freshman in 2013-14, John played in his first season of football and received a certificate of participation. He appeared in six varsity games at linebacker and on special teams. He had four total tackles. BW finished 6-4 overall. 

As a sophomore in 2014-2015, John played his second season of football and earned his first varsity letter. The linebacker played in all 10 games and finished tied for fifth on the team with 51 tackles. He also had five tackles for losses of 15 yards and one quarterback sack for minus 10 yards. He also forced one fumble, recovered another and broke up one pass. BW finished 5-5 overall.

As a junior in 2015-2016, John played his third season of football and earned his second letter. He split time as both a starter and back up at OLB. John had 21 tackles, including 13 solo stops and one tackle for loss. He also forced one fumble. BW finished 7-3 overall.

As a senior in 2016-2017, John played his fourth season of football and earned his third letter. He saw action in all 10 varsity games at both OLB and on special teams. John made 12 total tackles, including 10 solo stops. He also intercepted a pass and returned it 31 yards. BW finished 3-7 overall.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION: John McElfresh grew up in Bradenton, Florida and graduated from Manatee High School.

John played football for four years and basketball for two years.
