BW ATHLETICS INFORMATION:  Jake Carner played four seasons of football at Baldwin Wallace University (2013-2016) and earned two varsity letters. He was a key member of the Yellow Jacket varsity for three seasons.

CAREER SYNOPSIS:  Jake played four years of football and earned two varsity letters and helped BW compile a 21-19 record. He spent his first season mostly on the Junior Varsity team, split time between the varsity and J.V. teams as a sophomore and was a key member of the varsity secondary and special teams for three seasons. Jake was credited with making 39 career tackles, including a career-high 23 as a senior, and one quarterback sack. He mostly played in the "nickel" package. Jake also was the holder on all extra points and field goals as a senior.

THROUGH-THE-YEARS:  As a freshman in 2013-2014, Jake played his first season of football and earned a certificate of completion. He saw action at the safety position on the junior varsity team and dressed for some varsity games. BW finished 6-4 overall. 

As a sophomore in 2014-2015, Jake played his second season of football. He saw action in six varsity games at safety and on special teams and made three tackles. He earned a certificate of participation. BW finished 5-5 overall.

As a junior in 2015-2016, Jake played his third season of football and earned his first varsity letter. He was a key member of the rotation in the secondary and alternated at safety and "nickel" back in passing situations. He also contributed on special teams. Jake had 13 total tackles, including eight solo stops, one tackle for loss (a quarterback sack) and broke up one pass. BW finished 7-3 overall.

As a senior in 2016-2017, Jake played his fourth season of football and earned his second letter. He saw action both in the defensive secondary and was the holder for the placekicker on all placements (extra points and field goals). Jake had a career-high 23 tackles and was a key member of the "nickel" package on defense. BW finished 3-7 overall.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION:  Jake Carner grew up in Salem, Ohio and graduated from Salem High School.

Jake played four years of football and earned three varsity letters. He played four years of baseball and lettered three times. He also played hockey and lettered once.

In football as a senior, Jake was a second-team All-Northeast Buckeye Conference pick and an Academic All-Ohio selection. As a junior, he was named honorable mention All-NBC.
