SPORTS PLAYED AT BW (YEARS AND LETTERS WON): As a junior in 2012, Matt competed in his third season of baseball and earned his second varsity letter.
ATHLETIC HONORS: As a junior in 2012, Matt was named as the "Yellow Jacket Award" recipient. The Yellow Jacket Award is given annually to the exemplary baseball student-athlete who has demonstrated a year-round dedication to the team by displaying a positive attitude toward the game and his teammates and showing a strong work ethic and a style of unselfish play and leadership. This award was voted on the by the B-W Coaching Staff.
GENERAL BASEBALL INFORMATION: Matt has had a solid baseball career thus far. B-W has recorded a 56-53-1 record during his first three seasons in the Brown & Gold. For his career, Matt has played in 28 games, including 10 starts, and is a .273 hitter (15-for-55) with eight runs scored, three doubles and 10 RBI. In the field,. he has committed just one error in 67 fielding chances.

HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS PLAYED (YEARS & LETTERS EARNED): Matt played four years of baseball and earned two varsity letters. He played golf for three years and earned two letters and basketball for one year, but did not letter.
HIGH SCHOOL HONORS, SPECIFY SPORT & YEAR: (ALL-CONFERENCE, DISTRICT, ETC.): As a senior in baseball, Matt was named as a first-team All-Principals Athletic Conference performer, runner-up for PAC Player of the Year honors, he was also named as his team's Most Valuable Player, Offensive Player of the Year and there Falcon Award winner for his great leadership. Statistically as a senior, Matt hit .380 with 25 hits, nine runs scored, five doubles, one homerun, 15 runs batted-in, a .476 on-base percentage and .500 slugging percentage. In golf as a senior, He received the Falcon Award for his great leadership on and off the course.
