BW Men’s Lacrosse Picked Fourth in OAC Preseason Poll

BEREA, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's lacrosse team was picked to finish fourth in the 2015 Ohio Athletic Conference Coaches Preseason Polls.

BW, who finished with a school-record seven wins and a 7-7 overall record a year ago, advanced to the OAC Tournament Semifinals.

Head Coach Jason Tarnow,
who is 13-12 overall and 2-3 in the OAC in his first two seasons in Berea, enters his 13th season as a head coach with a career record of 85-63.   Tarnow returns 30 lettermen and six starters from last year's squad.  Leading this year's team will be junior All-OAC attack Vinny Carson (Cleveland/ Benedictine), sophomore midfielder Shane Rakich (Dublin/ Olentangy Liberty) and junior goalkeeper Jake Harders (Rocky River / St. Edward).

Carson led the team in 28 goals, tied for first with 18 assists and led the team with 46 total points.  Rakich tied for first on the team with 18 assists and was second with 32 points.  Harders allowed 8.85 goals-per-game, saved 50 percent of the shots he faced, and made 115 saves, including 10 or more in eight games.
 
The Yellow Jackets open the season on Saturday, February 28 when it hosts a non-conference game against Washington & Jefferson (Pa.) College in the second game of men's and women's lacrosse doubleheader on the Tressel Field at 4 p.m. The first OAC game is on Saturday, April 4 at 1 p.m.
