BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University first-year Head Football Coach Jim Hilvert has selected Brian Foos and Joe Nemith III to be two of his four full-time assistant coaches. Foos will be the Offensive Coordinator and coach the line and Nemith will coach the linebackers and special teams. They began their duties on Monday, February 6, 2017.
The duo joins current Yellow Jacket Defensive Coordinator Jim Meyer and Quaterbacks Coach and Recruting Coordinator Steve Opgenorth as full-time assistants on Hilvert's staff.

"Both men have a wealth of knowledge and success in the areas of teaching young men and coaching the sport of football. We feel that both Brian and Joe will be great assets to BW and its football program."
Foos comes to BW from Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky where he served as the Assistant Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator and Recruiting Coordinator. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sport Management from Otterbein University in 2003 and a Master's of Business Administration from Ohio Dominican in 2007.
Foos helped to start the Lindsey Wilson football program in 2009. He helped the lead the team to three straight National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) FCS playoff appearances, four straight Top-20 finishes and developed one of the top offenses in the NAIA.
Prior to coaching at Lindsey Wilson, Foos helped to begin the football program at Ohio Dominican and coached in various spots there from 2004 through 2009. He was the Offensive and Recruiting Coordinator during his final season. Foos helped the team compile a 26-7 record with a .787 winning percentage and consecutive Top-17 finishes from 2006 through 2008, including a 12-1 record and the Mid-States Football Association title in 2007. From 2006 through 2008, Foos' offense set 13 NAIA and 46 conference records.
Foos began his coaching career at Ohio Wesleyan University in 2003 as an assistant on the defensive line following a brilliant four-year career at Otterbein as a player and as a student assistant in 2002. As a student-athlete, Foos was a four-year starter on the offensive line and started 39 of 40 career games. He is a native of Tiffin, Ohio and a 1997 graduate of Columbian High School. He is a member of the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and served on its Ethics Committee in 2016.
Nemith also has a wealth of experience having coached as a graduate assistant at the University of Akron from 1998 to 2000 and as an assistant coach at Tri-State (Ind.) University (now Trine University) from 2000-2002, Robert Morris (Pa.) University from 2002-2004, Ohio Dominican from 2004-2010, Otterbein from 2010-2013 and Ashland University from 2013-2016.
Nemith's defenses at Tri-State, Robert Morris, Ohio Dominican, Otterbein and Ashland all have been nationally-ranked. A year ago, his Ashland defense ranked seventh in NCAA Division II in scoring defense (15.1 points-per-game) and 15th in total defense. During Nemith's three seasons at Ashland, the Eagles compiled a 27-5 record and allowed less than 18 points per game.
Nemith, a 1997 graduate of Malone College, was a communications and public relations major. He was a three-year starter and four-year player at safety. He was an All-Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) Mideast Division selection in 1995 and 1996. Nemith helped Malone capture MSFA Mideast Division titles in '95 and '96 and an NAIA Playoff berth in '95 when Malone had a 10-1-1 record.
He is a member of the AFCA and served on its Coach of the Year (2010-2011) and Exhibits (2001-2009) committees. Nemith is a member of the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association since 1999.
The Yellow Jackets open the 2017 season on Saturday, September 2 when they travel to Defiance to play Defiance College at 1:30 p.m.
