Today's Game --  BW open its 2016 season in a rare Thursday night contest at home against Defiance College. It marks the battled of the Yellow Jackets as both schools share the same mascot.  BW was picked to finish fourth in the Ohio Athletic Conference. This is only non-conference game of the regular season.

Series Notes --  BW and Defiance have met twice on the gridiron with BW winning both games. BW beat the Yellowjackets 26-15 in 1916 in Defiance and trounced Defiance, 60-0 in 1920. 

Last Meeting --  The last time BW and Defiance met on the gridiron was on October 30, 1920 in Berea. BW held Defiance scoreless and won by a final score 60-0.  BW led, 41-0, at halftime. Every player on the roster saw action.

Scouting BW
BW returns 35 lettermen and 11 starters from last year's team that finished 7-3 overall and tied for second in the OAC at 7-2.  BW averaged 31.6 points and allowed 23.8 ppg. for a plus-7.8 ppg. differential. BW gained 420.6 yards per game, including 211.6 on the ground and 209.0 through the air.

Scouting Defiance
Defiance scored 17.3 ppg. and allowed 28.6 ppg. for a minus-11.3 ppg. during the 2015 campaign. Defiance averaged 253.3 yards of total offense per game, including 153.6 on the ground and 99.7 through the air. Defiance allowed 357 yards of total offense per game, including 135.8 on the ground and 221.2 through the air.
