Women’s Volleyball Picked Fifth in 2022 OAC Preseason Poll

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's volleyball team has been selected to finish fifth by the Ohio Athletic Conference coaches as announced in the annual OAC Preseason Poll.

BW, who was picked fourth in 2021, was slated fifth in this year's poll, totaling 45 points. The 2021 OAC second-place finisher Otterbein University was selected for the first-place spot this year with 79 total points and eight first-place votes. Defending OAC Champion Ohio Northern University was the second-place choice with 71 points and two first-place votes. University of Mount Union was slated third with 65 points and Muskingum University was fourth with 57 points.

The Yellow Jackets and first-year Head Coach Kristina Fultz returns seven letterwinners, five starters, one All-OAC player, and one Academic All-OAC selection from last year's squad that concluded the season with a 19-10 overall record and 4-5 in the OAC.

BW opens the 2022 campaign on September 2 when it travels to Sandusky for its first non-conference weekend tournament inside the Cedar Point Sports Center. The Yellow Jackets will take on Smith (Mass.) College and Hope (Mich.) College on Friday, September 2 and Grove City (Pa.) College and Hanover (Ind.) College on Saturday, September 3. The home opener is on Wednesday, September 7 when BW hosts Hiram College for another non-conference showdown.
