AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - For the first time in her career, Baldwin Wallace University junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC distance runner Alyssa Laughner (Howard, Pa./Central Mountain) has been named the OAC Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Leading the Yellow Jackets to a second-place overall finish at the 51st Sparky Adams Invitational, Laughner got the running events off to a great start by winning the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 11:04.18. That time currently ranks second in all of NCAA Division III in the event. The junior also ran the first leg of the winning 4x800-meter relay, which combined to cross the finish line in 9:38.02.

For her outdoor career, Laughner is an All-Ohio performer in the 5,000-meter run and an All-OAC performer, a U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Great Lakes Region performer and a national qualifier in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

BW will return to the track on Saturday, April 10, for the Greg Tyson Jr. Invitational, hosted by Heidelberg University, beginning at 11 a.m. inside Hoernemann Stadium.
