Women’s Track and Field Honors Six Senior Student-Athletes

BEREA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University Athletic Department and the women's track and field program would like to congratulate senior student-athletes Ky'leana Allen, Brooke Buckhannon, Stephanie Magvas, Hastings Marek, Heather Orr and Molina Otte on completing their outstanding athletic careers at the University. 

While the NCAA has extended another year of eligibility, it is uncertain if each of these student-athletes will come back for another season or continue down their career path. So, the University administration, faculty and staff congratulates these six young women on their outstanding athletic and academic careers as well as their leadership to the women's track and field program. The University would like to wish each of them all the best of luck in their future endeavors and hope that even after graduation that they come back and visit us often. They will always be a Yellow Jacket for Life (YJ4L).

Allen is a psychology major from Columbus, Ohio, and a graduate of Bishop Hartley High School. She is a two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference sprinter, both coming with third-place finishes in the distance medley relay and the 4x400-meter relay. For her career, Allen competed in the 55, 60, 100, 200 and 400-meter dashes as well as the 4x100, 4x200, 4x400-meter and distance medley relays. In the classroom, she is a Dean's List student. Allen is the daughter of Erycka Allen. 

 

 

 

  

Buckhannon is a public relations and marketing double major from Collins, Ohio, and a graduate of Western Reserve High School. She is a three-time national qualifier and a 12-time All-OAC thrower, including a five-time OAC champion. For her career, Buckhannon competed in the shot put, weight throw, discus throw and hammer throw en route to five additional All-Ohio honors, two OAC Field Athlete of the Year accolades, nine U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Great Lakes Region selections and BW's 2021 Clyde Lamb Award winner. In the classroom, Buckhannon is a three-time Academic All-OAC honoree, a two-time USTFCCCA All-Academic selection, a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar, a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma and Alpha Lambda Delta honor societies and a member of the Public Relations Society of America. Buckhannon is the daughter of Larry and Sarah Buckhannon. 

 

  

  

Magvas is a early childhood education major from Westlake, Ohio, and a graduate of Magnificat High School. She is a two-time Academic All-OAC jumper and sprinter. For her career, Magvas competed in the 100 and 200-meter dashes; the 4x200-meter relay; the high jump and the long jump. Academically, she is a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar and a member of the Student Ambassadors program. Magvas is the daughter of Elizabeth and Michael Magvas. 

 

 

 

  

Marek is a mathematics major from Pataskala, Ohio, and a graduate of Watkins Memorial High School. She is an All-Ohio, All-OAC, All-Great Lakes Region and school-record holder distance runner. For her career, Marek is a two-time All-Ohio performer; a six-time All-OAC performer, including three OAC titles; and a four-time USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region performer. She holds the school record for the indoor 1,000-meter run, which she broke twice during her senior season, and she is also the 2021 OAC Indoor Distance Athlete of the Year and BW's 2021 Marcia French Most Outstanding Female Athlete Award recipient. In the classroom, Marek is an Academic All-OAC honoree, a Dean's List student and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. She is also a three-time varsity letterwinner on the women's cross country team. Marek is the daughter of Tammy and Timothy Marek. 

 

 

  

Orr is a pre-physical therapy major from Indianapolis, Indiana, and a graduate of Perry Meridian High School. She is a two-time Academic All-OAC jumper. For her career, Orr was a high jump specialist and also competed in the long jump. Academically, she is a Dean's List student. Orr is the daughter of Linda and Scott Orr. 

 

 

 

  

 

Otte is a pre-physical therapy major from Omaha, Nebraska, and a graduate of Millard West High School. She is an All-OAC and All-Great Lakes Region distance runner. For her career, Otte is a four-time All-OAC performer with all four honors coming in her senior season and a USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region honoree in the distance medley relay. Academically, she is a Dean's List student and a member of the Pre-Physical Therapy Club. Otte is also a three-time letterwinner on the women's cross country team.
