Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Participates in Last Chance Meet

ALLIANCE, Ohio - Select members of the Baldwin Wallace University women's outdoor track and field team participated at an Ohio Athletic Conference Last Chance Meet, hosted by the University of Mount Union inside Mount Union Stadium. 

Freshman All-OAC distance runner Hope Murphy (Mogadore) won the 800-meter run for the eighth time in the outdoor season, crossing the finish line in a time of 2:15.12. The freshman also competed in the 1,500-meter run where she placed second in 4:57.90. 

In the field, sophomore All-OAC thrower Abby Rodriguez (Grandview, Wash./Prosser) won the shot put for the second consecutive meet when she tossed a career-best 40 feet, 11.75 inches. Senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC thrower Brooke Buckhannon (Collins/Western Reserve) won the hammer throw for the seventh time this season, hitting a mark of 182'4". Sophomore jumper/sprinter Maddie Boltz (Medina/Cloverleaf) finished as the runner-up in the javelin throw with a toss of 93'1". 

The Yellow Jackets will now wait and see which athletes qualify to the 2021 NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships, hosted Thursday through Saturday, May 27-29 at the Irwin Belk Track in Greensboro, North Carolina.
