BEREA, Ohio— The Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team dropped an Ohio Athletic Conference game to Wilmington College by a final score 4-1 on Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium.
Wilmington (3-2-2, 3-2-2 OAC) got out to a quick start when sophomore midfielder Heidi Edens scored a goal at the 2:00 mark. The Quakers struck again when senior forward Carlie Brooks found the back of the net at the 9:48 mark on a feed from Mackenzie Weaver. Sophomore forward Taylor Huffman was able to add to Wilmington's lead with her goal at the 31:35 mark. The Quakers capped the first half scoring when freshmen forward Mackenzie Faul beat the goalkeeper with help from a pass by Jenna Victor.
BW(2-3, 2-3 OAC) was able to respond in the second half when junior midfielder Maddie Farell (Macomb, Mich./Dakota) buried a goal off a feed from senior midfielder Kaitlin McGuire (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) at the 45:43 mark. The Yellow Jackets held a 14-0 advantage in second half shots.
In the goal for the Yellow Jackets, sophomore goalkeeper Maddie Hofmann (Olmsted Township/Olmsted Falls) allowed four goals on 10 shots and made three saves.
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Thursday, April 8 when they travels to Alliance for an OAC match against the University of Mount Union at 7 p.m.
