Women's Soccer Blanks Mount Union in Regular Season Road Finale

ALLIANCE, Ohio – In its final road game of the 2021 season, the Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team with a shutout on University of Mount Union in an Ohio Athletic Conference game by final score of 2-0  inside Mount Union Stadium. 

BW(3-4, 3-4 OAC) found their first goal at the 13:10 mark, when a ball off a corner kick from junior defender Anna Wenzinger (Columbus /Bishop Watterson) deflected off a Mount Union (2-5-1, 2-5-1 OAC) player into the back of the net in the 13th minute.

The Yellow Jackets closed out the scoring when freshman forward Taylor Tomlinson (Girard/Youngstown Ursuline) lofted a ball into the upper net at the 53:33 mark. 

In goal for the BW was sophomore goalkeeper Maddie Hofmann (Olmsted Township/Olmsted Falls) picked up the victory as she did not allow a goal on six shots with four saves.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Sunday, April 11 when they host an OAC and Seniors' Day game against Marietta College on the Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium at 2 p.m.
