Women's Soccer Knocks Off Heidelberg for First Victory of the Season.

BEREA, Ohio— The Baldwin Wallace women's soccer team beat Heidelberg University in an Ohio Athletic Conference match by a final score 2-1 on Tressel Field.  

In the first half Heidelberg (0-2-2, 0-2-2 OAC) opened the scoring when freshmen forward Makenzie Damsa found the back of the net at the 4:40 mark. BW (1-2, 1-2 OAC) was able to even things up at the 17:47 mark when freshmen forward Taylor Tomlinson (Girard/Ursuline) scored off a feed for senior midfielder Kaitlin McGuire (Gibsonia, Pa/Pine-Richland).

The second half was a defensive struggle till junior Midfielder Bella Reigle (Niles/McKinley) gave the Yellow Jackets the advantage when she scored off an assist from freshmen forward Anna Wolfinger (Wadsworth) at the 68:16 mark.

In net for the Yellow Jackets, sophomore goalkeeper Maddie Hofmann (Olmsted Township/Olmsted Falls) made her first career start. She faced five shots making four saves and allowing one goal.

BW is back in action Sunday, March 28 when the team travels to Muskingum University for an OAC match at 2:00 p.m.
