Maclellan Garners First Career OAC Weekly Honor

BEREA, Ohio – Freshman 197-pound wrestler Tyler Maclellan (Medina/Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) has been selected as the Ohio Athletic Conference Wrestler-of-the-Week.

Maclellan earned his first career OAC honor after he pinned Ricky Bruce in 4:05 to help the Yellow Jackets to a thrilling, 20-19, win at Heidelberg University last Tuesday.   The match was tied 19-19 at the end of regulation and had to be decided by the third round of criteria.  The first criteria was pins and each team had one, including Maclellan's at 197.   The second criteria was major decisions and both teams had one so the match had to be decided on total points scored.  BW outscored the Student Princes, 49-42, to give the Yellow Jackets the one point and the victory. Maclellan is 17-6 on the season.
  
The wrestling team is back in action this Sunday, Match 1 when it travels to Grantham, Pennsylvania to compete at the 2015 NCAA Division III Mideast Regionals hosted by Messiah College The top three wrestlers in each weight class advance to the 2015 NCAA Division III Championships.
