Decatur Garners First Career OAC Weekly Wrestling Honor

BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University sophomore 141-pound wrestler Josh Decatur (Akron / Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) has been named as the Ohio Athletic Conference Wrestler-of-the-Week. 

Decatur garners his first career OAC weekly honor after he posted a perfect 4-0 record last week with a pin, a technical fall and two wins by decision.  He opened the week with a 5-2 decision in a 25-18 comeback OAC victory against cross-town rival John Carroll University last Tuesday. Decatur closed out the week with three wins at the Mel Berry Duals hosted by Thiel (Pa.) College last Friday.   He won his match against Rochester (N.Y.) Institute of Technology with a 3-1 decision, won by fall against Mercyhurst Northeast Community College (Pa.) and won by a technical fall against Thiel. This season, Decatur has a record of 20-4 overall.

The 15th-nationally ranked Yellow Jackets are next in action on Tuesday, January 27 when they travel to New Concord for an OAC dual match against Muskingum University at 7:30 p.m.   The team also is in action on Friday and Saturday, January 30 and 31 when it travels to Wheaton, Illinois to compete in the Pete Wilson Invitational hosted by Wheaton College.
