Women's Golf Celebrates Three Senior Student-Athletes

BEREA, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University Athletic Department and women's golf program would like to congratulate senior student-athletes Aubrey Baumler, Anna Schatschneider and Rachael Sladky on completing their outstanding athletic careers at the University.

While the NCAA has extended another year of eligibility, it is uncertain if each of these student-athlete will come back for another season or continue down their career path.  So, the University administration, faculty and staff congratulates these three young women on their outstanding athletic and academic careers as well as their leadership to the women's golf program. The University would like to wish each of them all the best of luck in their future endeavors and hope that even after graduation that they come back and visit us often. They will always be a Yellow Jacket for Life (YJ4L).

Baumler is a spanish and political science double major from Huron, Ohio and a graduate of Huron High School. She will earn her third varsity letter this spring.  In her career, Baumler has played in 26 invitationals and 44 rounds. She has a career stroke average of 102.64. She shot a career-low round of 99 at the University of Mount Union Fall Invitational on September 8, 2019. Off the course, Baumler is a two-time Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference peformer, a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. She also receievd the BW Academic Excellence Award for the highest grade point average on the team as a freshman. Baumler is the daughter of Rick Baumler and Andra Clark of Huron.

 

 

 

Schatschneider is a health and physical education major from Avon, Ohio and a graduate of Avon High School.  She is a two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer that will earn her third varsity letters this spring. Schatschneider, who transferred from Ashland University, has appeared in 17 career invitationals and 27 rounds. She has a career stroke average of 84.93. Schatschneider has led the team in stroke average for the past three seasons and her 82.63 average this season is the best single season average in school history. She also is 22nd in university history for her 87.46 season average in 2018-19. She is a two-time OAC Women's Golfer of the Week and three-time Medalist. Schatschneider fired a career-low round of 78 at the University of Mount Union Fall Invitational on September 8, 2019. Off the course, she is a two-time Academic All-OAC performer, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. Schatschneider is the daughter of Harold and Karen Schatschneider of Avon.

 

 

Sladky is an English major from North Olmsted, Ohio and a graduate of North Olmsted High School. She will earn her third varsity letter this spring. For her career, Sladky has played in 32 invitationals and 51 rounds. She has a career stroke average of 95.02.  Sladky's career-best stroke average of 87.78 this season ranks 25th in school history. She fired a career-low round of 85 on two occasions with the last coming at the BW Fall Invitational on August 31, 2019. Off the course, Sladky is a two-time Academic All-OAC performer, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta, Chi Alpha Sigma and Dayton C. Miller honoraries. She is the daughter of Rob and Linda Sladky of North Olmsted.
