Sladky Earns First Career Medalist, Women’s Golf Places Second at Mount Union Purple and White Invitational

ALLIANCE, Ohio -  Senior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer Rachael Sladky (North Olmsted) earned her first career medalist honor as the Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team placed second of three teams at the Tannenhauf Golf Club.

BW was second out of three teams with a total of 391 strokes on the 6,008 Tannenhauf layout. Mount Union was the team champion with 357 strokes.

Sladky fired a tournament low round of 86 to lead the Yellow Jackets.

In addition, junior Leah Metzger (Ashland) shot a round of 89. Sophomore Kaitlynn Olak (Norwalk/St. Paul) carded a round of 107. Freshman Megan Seitz (Columbia Station/Columbia) shot a career-best 109.   Rounding out the top five was senior Academic All-OAC peformer Aubrey Baumler (Huron) rounded out the top five with a round of 115.

Playing as an individual was freshman Chloe Thomas (Norwalk) tallied a round of 112 in her first collegiate invitational.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Sunday, March 28 when it travels back to Alliance to compete in the Mount Union Spring Invitational at Tannehauf.
