Feaster’s Career Night Leads BW Women’s Basketball to Fourth Straight Win

BEREA, Ohio – Junior guard Janaya Feaster (Akron/Archbishop Hoban) scored a career and game-high 17 points as the Baldwin Wallace University women's basketball team won its fourth straight game with a 57-55 defeat of Heidelberg University in an Ohio Athletic Conference contest in the Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center.

BW (11-3, 6-1 OAC) looks for ninth win in its last 10 games while veteran Head Coach Cheri Harrer looks to become just the fourth men's or women's OAC basketball coach to win 500 career games when the team travels this Saturday, January 17 to Ada for an OAC game against first place Ohio Northern University in the ONU Sports Center at 3 p.m.

In addition to Feaster for the Yellow Jackets, sophomore Clara Lemmon (Canton/Louisville) and junior guard/forward Alissa Munro (Mansfield/Lexington) each scored 10 points.

Heidelberg (6-8, 4-3 OAC) was led by senior guard Paige Ricketts, junior guard Allie Hawkins, junior forward Shelby Dearth, junior center Marisa Liburdi and sophomore forward Carli Patrick all scored 10 points. Patrick recorded a double-double as she also grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds.

The Student Princes opened the game on a 10-4 run on a layup by Liburdi at the 15:01 mark. BW responded with a 15-9 run to cut the lead down to one point at 19-18 on a layup by Feaster at 5:39. The Yellow Jackets outscored Heidelberg 7-5 the remainder of the half and led 25-23 at the intermission.

The Student Princes opened the second half on a 13-2 run to push the lead to 36-27 on a layup by sophomore forward Carli Patrick at the 15:40 mark. BW responded with a 15-5 run to regain the lead at 42-41 on a jumper by Feaster at 7:50. The game would be tied four times with the last coming at 49-49 at the 5:00 mark. The Yellow Jackets outscored Heidelberg 8-6 down the stretch to secure the victory.

The Yellow Jackets return to friendly confines of the Ursprung Gym on Wednesday, January 21 when they hosts cross-town rival John Carroll University in an OAC game at 7:30 p.m.
