Men's Cross Country Places 18th at Great Lakes Regional Championships, Concludes Season

KENTWOOD, Mich. – The Baldwin Wallace University men's cross country team saw its season come to an end this afternoon, as it competed in the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Championships, hosted by Calvin (Mich.) University in the Gainey Athletic Complex.

In a 7.5-kilometer event that was composed entirely of schools within the Great Lakes Region, BW managed to place 18th out of 37 eligible teams, scoring 503 points. Host institution, Calvin took home the Great Lakes Regional team title with 43 points. Fellow Ohio Athletic Conference member, Otterbein University placed second with 64 points. Therefore, both Calvin and Otterbein secured the two regional automatic bids to the NCAA Division III National Championships next weekend in Louisville, Kentucky.

For the first race this season, junior runner Andrew Krupp (Ottawa Hills) led the charge for the Yellow Jackets by placing 67th with a final time of 25:33.5. The next BW participant to cross the finish line was senior All-OAC runner Isaac Wilson (Tylersburg, Pa./North Clarion) who trailed just behind in 72nd place with a time of 25:39.2. Junior Spencer Roberts (West Seneca, N.Y./West) and sophomore David Prather (Hardin, Mont.) were the next Yellow Jacket finishers, coming in 90th and 134th place, with times of 25:54.3 and 26:27.5, respectively. Rounding out the top five BW participants was junior Jose Reynoso (Painesville/Harvey) who finished 145th in 26:40.4.
