Hamilton Named OAC Football Defensive Player-of-the-Week

BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin-Wallace College senior defensive end Derron Hamilton (Euclid) has been named as the Ohio Athletic Conference Football Defensive Player-of-the-Week for his performance during the Yellow Jackets 17-7 win against Marietta College  on Saturday, October 1, 2011.  This is the first time in his career that he has earned the weekly honor.

Hamilton had a team-high 11 tackles and 3.5 quarterback sacks as the B-W defense limited Marietta to 151 yards of total offense in a 17-7 win.  He had 4.5 total tackles for losses of 21 yards.  In the last two games, Hamilton now has seven QB sacks for minus 40 yards for the 3-1 Yellow Jackets. Overall, he has 24 tackles, including 11 tackles for loss and 8.5 QB sacks.  Hamilton is 4.5 sacks shy of B-W's school-record of 13.

B-W is back in action on Saturday, October 8 when it travels to Westerville to take on the Cardinals of Otterbein University in an OAC game at 7:00 p.m. The next home game is on Saturday, October 15 when the Yellow Jackets host Ohio Northern University on the annual Homecoming Game at 2:00 p.m.  It will be the second of three home games televised by SportsTime Ohio.
