Brennan Garners First OAC Women’s Track Athlete of the Week Accolade

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – For the first time in her career, Baldwin Wallace University sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference distance runner Kelly Brennan (Akron/Walsh Jesuit) has been selected as the OAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week.

In the season-opening OAC North Split meet, Brennan helped the Yellow Jackets to a third-place finish by winning the 1-mile and 3,000-meter runs as well as the 4x400 relay. She ran 5:08.38 in the mile and 10:33.35 in the 3,000 while the 4x400 relay team won in 4:14.53 as Brennan ran the anchor leg.

Brennan earned her All-OAC honors a year ago when she placed second in the indoor 3,000-meter, third in the indoor 800-meter and third in the outdoor 1,500-meter. She currently holds the school record in the outdoor 800-meter run with a time of 2:12.02.

BW will be back on the track on Friday, January 26, when the Yellow Jackets host the Dr. William Taraschke Classic on the Harrison Dillard Track inside the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse. Field events begin at 4 p.m. while running events will begin at approximately 5 p.m.
