Women's Indoor Track and Field Takes Tenth at All-Ohio Championships

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's indoor track and field team took 10th place at the Division III All-Ohio Indoor Championships, hosted by Otterbein University inside the Clement Recreation Center.

The Yellow Jacket women were 10th of 17 teams with 26 points and Otterbein took home the women's All-Ohio team title with 109 points.

The distance medley relay team of freshman distance runner Madison Kile (North Canton/Hoover), freshman sprinter Ky'leana Allen (Columbus/Bishop Hartley), sophomore distance runner Katie Fowler (Mount Vernon) and freshman distance runner Hastings Marek (Pataskala/Watkins Memorial) got things started with a fifth place finish in a season-best time of 12:50.38.

Sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference distance runner Bella Pendola (Warsaw/River View) earned her first career All-Ohio honors by winning the 5,000-meter run in a season-best and career-best time of 18:09.69. The sophomore finished almost 20 seconds faster than the second place runner. Junior sprinter Grace Nemeth (Medina) also earned her first career All-Ohio honors with a third place finish in the 200-meter dash in a season-best time of 26.38 seconds.

Sophomore thrower Brooke Buckhannon (Collins/Western Reserve) had the best result in the field, placing fourth in the shot put with a career best toss of 41 feet, 5.75 inches.

BW will be back in action on Saturday, February 17, when the Yellow Jackets travel to Alliance to compete in the Raider Tune Up, hosted by Mount Union inside The McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex.
