Lloyd Garners First Career OAC Men’s Wrestler of the Week Honor

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University junior 174-pound men's wrestler Carter Lloyd (Brecksville/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Wrestler of the Week for the first time in his career.

Lloyd, who becomes the fifth BW men's wrestler to earn a weekly accolade, earns his honor after helping the No. 5 nationally ranked Yellow Jackets to a pair of victories last week.

He opened the week with a win by pinfall in 5:13 over Alexander Ruth of Wilmington College to help BW to secure its school-record tying fourth straight OAC Championship last Tuesday.  Lloyd closed out the week with a 7-1 decision victory over Alec Hall of NCAA Division II Notre Dame College.

This season, he has a record of career-best 24 victories with six losses.  Lloyd has recorded five pins, four major decisions and two technical falls

For his career, Lloyd has a record of 62-29 with 14 pins, eight major decisions and five technical falls.

The Yellow Jackets close out the regular season portion of their schedule on Saturday, February 17 when they travel to Angola, Indiana to compete in the Mid-States Invitational hosted by Trine University inside the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Inc. Athletic and Recreation Center at 9:30 a.m.
