No. 5 Men’s Wrestling Sweeps OAC Duals

BEREA, Ohio – The No. 5 nationally ranked Baldwin Wallace University men's wrestling team swept the Ohio Athletic Conference duals as it won three matches inside the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse.

BW (13-2, 6-0 OAC) shutout Muskingum University by a final score of 56-6, defeated the University of Mount Union by a final score of 37-6 and defeated crosstown rival John Carroll University by a final score of 38-8.

  • 125 pounds:    Senior All-American and No. 4 nationally ranked Jacob Decatur (Akron/Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) won a 19-4 technical fall over senior Hunter Heck
  • 133 pounds:    Junior Brett Blaess (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) won by forfeit
  • 141 pounds:    Freshman Keegan McMahon (Ashburn, Va. / Paul VI Catholic) won an 11-1 major decision over freshman Aiden Johnson
  • 149 pounds:    Senior All-American and No. 1 nationally ranked Michael Petrella (Reynoldsburg/Bishop Hartley) won by forfeit
  • 157 pounds:    Junior All-OAC Tommy West (Avon Lake/St. Edward) won a 15-0 technical fall over freshman Zeke Poulos
  • 165 pounds:    Freshman Andrew Supers (Medina) won by forfeit
  • 174 pounds:    Sophomore Remington Bauer (Norwalk/Edison) won by forfeit
  • 184 pounds:    Junior Carter Lloyd (Brecksville/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) won by forfeit
  • 197 pounds:    Senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC Luke Hopkins (Cuyahoga Heights) won by forfeit
