BW Men’s Swimming Lose to Mount Union

BEREA, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving team opened its 2014-2015 Ohio Athletic Conference home schedule with a 140-58 loss to the University of Mount Union in the BW Natatorium in the Lou Higgins Center.  

The Yellow Jacket men (2-5, 0-2 OAC) were lead by All-OAC senior Bryan Gerber (Sagamore Hills/ Nordonia) who finished first in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:18.16. He also was the runner-up in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:51.49.

In addition, junior Academic All-OAC and All-OAC competitor Nathan Onchuck (Darien, Ill./ Hinsdale South) was second in the 50 free in 23.00 seconds and third in the 100 free in 53.45 seconds.  Sophomore All-OAC swimmer Jacob Burk (Bowling Green) was second in the 1000-yard freestyle in 10:25.56, second in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:04.97 and third in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:13.48.  Freshman Tyler Thompson (Broadview Heights/ Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) was second in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:26.28; and sophomore Basem Magd (Fort Washington, Md./ Grace Christian Academy) was third in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:54.87.

The Yellow Jackets remain at home and host Hiram College in a non-conference dual meet on Saturday, November 22 at 1 pm in the BW Natatorium.
