BW Men's Swimmers Lose Season Opener at Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving teams opened the 2014-15 season with an Ohio Athletic Conference dual meet loss at Wilmington College, 130-57, in the Wilmington Natatorium.

The BW men were led by freshman Tyler Thompson (Broadview Heights/Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) who won the 100-meter breaststroke in a time of 1:11.91 and placed second in the 200-meter individual medley in 2:28.57.  Sophomore All-OAC swimmer Jacob Burk (Bowling Green) finished second in two events as he was runner-up in the 800-meter freestyle in 9:40.58 and in the 400-meter free in 4:39.34.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action tomorrow, Sunday, October 26 when it travels to Delaware for a non-conference dual meet against Ohio Wesleyan University at 11 a.m.  Next Saturday, November 8, BW travels to Bethany, West Virginia for a tri-meet at Bethany College against the Bison and Penn State Altoona at 1 p.m. The first home dual meet is on Saturday, Nov. 15 when the Jackets host Penn State-Behrend University in the BW Natatorium in the Lou Higgins Center at 1 p.m.
