Yellow Jacket Men's Swim Team Drops Home Finale to Case Western Reserve

BEREA, Ohio --  The Baldwin Wallace University men's and women's swimming and diving teams both were defeated by Cleveland cross-town and rival Case Western Reserve University in a non-conference dual in the BW Natatorium in the Lou Higgins Center on Seniors' & Parents' Day. 

The Yellow Jacket men (4-9) fell to the Spartans (8-1) by a score of 209.5-68.5.

Leading the way for the men were freshman Tyler Thompson (Broadview Heights/Brecksville Broadview Heights) who won two events and senior Bryan Gerber (Sagamore Hills/Nordonia) won one event. Thompson placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:00.32 and first in the 50-yard breaststroke in a time of 27.40. Gerber won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:49.95. 

Also swimming strongly for the Yellow Jackets men were sophomore Jacob Burk (Bowling Green) who finished second in the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 10:27.77 and junior Sean Rudolph, Jr. (Warrensville Heights) who finished second in the 50-yard backstroke in a time of 28.63.   

The BW swimmers and divers are now idle until the Yellow Jackets compete at the 2015 Ohio Athletic Conference Championship Meet from February 19-21 at the University of Akron.
