TIFFIN, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving teams was defeated by NCAA Division II Tiffin University by a final score of 91-20 in a non-conference dual meet in the Tiffin Natatorium.
Sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer Jacob Burk (Bowling Green) led BW (3-6) squad with a first place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle and a second place in the 500-yard freestyle. Burk won the 1000-freestyle in a season-best time of 10:18.74 and had of time of 5:01.64 in the 500-freestyle.
In addition to Burk, senior Bryan Gerber (Sagamore Hills/Nordonia) and freshman Tyler Thompson (Broadview Heights/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) each had a runner-up place. Gerber took second in the 200-yard freestyle in a season-best time of 1:51.41. Thompson was second in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:00.74
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, January 17 when they travel to Ada for an Ohio Athletic Conference dual meet against Ohio Northern University in the ONU Sports Center at 1 p.m. The next home meet is on Saturday, January 24 when the team hosts an OAC dual meet against cross-town rival John Carroll University in the BW Natatorium at 1 p.m.
