Men’s Golf Team Finishes Fourth at Ohio Northern Spring Invitational

HARROD, Ohio-- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team finished fourth at the Ohio Northern University Spring Invitational at the Colonial Hills Golf Course.

The tournament was scheduled to be 36-holes but was shortened to just 27 after heavy snow and high winds during the first round on Saturday. 

BW finished fourth of eight teams with rounds of 165 and 323 for a two-day total of 488 strokes on the par-72 and 6,886-yard Colonial Hills layout.  NCAA Division II Tiffin University won the team title with 468 strokes.

The Yellow Jackets were led by freshman Nick Infanti (Clarksburg, Md.) as he fired rounds of 37 and 70 for a two-day total of 116 to place second in his first collegiate tournament.

Infanti was followed by junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference player Matt Kershner (Independence) as he had rounds of 41 and 81 for a total of 122 to finish 14th.  Junior All-OAC player Scott Schroeder (Aurora) shot rounds of 45 and 78 for a total of 123.  Freshman Jason Garnet (North Royalton) had rounds of 43 and 85 for a two-day total of 128.  Rounding out the five-man squad, junior Weston Lucas (Columbia Station/Christian Community School) shot rounds of 44 and 87 for a total of 131.

Playing as individuals, senior Connor Duplin (North Canton / St. Thomas Aquinas) had rounds of 48 and 86 for a total of 134. Freshman Hunter Miller (Frankfort /Adena) fired rounds of 44 and 94 for a total of 138. Freshman Brad Blaine (Brooklyn) shot rounds of 49 and 95 for a two-day total of 144.

The Yellow Jackets return to action on Monday, April 4 when they to Hudson for a dual match against cross-town rival John Carroll University at the Country Club of Hudson.
