Men’s Golf Team Fifth at OAC Spring Invitational

HUDSON, Ohio-- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team placed fifth at the 2016 Ohio Athletic Conference Spring Invitational Tournament, hosted by John Carroll University at the Country Club of Hudson. This was the third of six spring events for the Yellow Jackets.  The collegiate golf season is equally divided between a fall and spring season.

This event was supposed to occur last weekend but was postponed due to inclement weather and rescheduled until today for 27 holes.  The Yellow Jackets placed fifth of eight teams with an 18-hole score of 305 and a nine-hole total of 160.

The Yellow Jackets were led by freshman Nick Infanti (Clarksburg, Md./ Clarksburg) led the way as he fired an 18-hole total of 74 and a nine-hole score of 37 for a 111 total strokes.

Infanti was followed by junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference player Scott Schroeder (Aurora) with a 75-39 for 114 strokes, junior All-OAC player Matt Kershner (Independence) with 78-41 for 119 strokes, junior Weston Lucas (Columbia Station/ Christian Community School) had 80-44 for 124 strokes and senior Connor Duplin (North Canton/ St. Thomas Aquinas) had 85-43 for 128 strokes.

In addition, freshman Jason Garnet (North Royalton) played as an individual and had 83-38 for 121 total strokes.

The Yellow Jackets return to action on Saturday and Sunday, April 16-17 when they travel to Tiffin, Ohio to participate in the Heidelbereg University Spring Invitational at the Mohawk Country Club.
