Men’s Golf Team Stands Sixth After Second Day of OAC Tourney

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio-- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team stands sixth after the second of the three-day and 72-hole Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament at the River Greens Golf Club. The final day of competition is tomorrow, Sunday, May 1. The winner of the OAC Tournament advances to the 2016 NCAA Division III National Tournament.

 

The Yellow Jackets carded 302 strokes in the first round, 302 in the second and 307 in the third for a 54-hole total of 911 strokes on the par-72 and 6,668-yard River Greens G.C. layout to stand sixth of eight teams. Otterbein University leads with 866 srokes after 54 holes.

 

The Yellow Jackets are led by freshman Nick Infanti (Clarksburg, Md./ Clarksburg) with a 78-75-72 for a 54-total of 225 strokes. He is followed by junior All-OAC standout Scott Schroeder (Aurora) with a 75-71-81 for 227, junior Weston Lucas (Columbia Station/ Christian Community School) with a career-low 73-73-82 for 228, junior All-OAC standout Matt Kershner (Independence) with a 76-83-79 for 238 and freshman Jason Garnet (North Royalton) with an 84-83-75 for 242.
