Men’s Golf Team Third at Heidelberg Invitational

TIFFIN, Ohio-- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team placed third at the two-day and 36-hole Heidelberg University Spring Invitational Tournament at the Mohawk Country Club. This was the fifth of six spring events for the Yellow Jackets.  The collegiate golf season is equally divided between a fall and spring season.

The Yellow Jackets carded 307 strokes on the first day (Saturday, April 16) and 312 today for a 36-hole total of 619 strokes on the par-72 and 6,705-yard Mohawk C.C. layout to place third of six teams. Tiffin University was the team champion.


The Yellow Jackets were led by freshman Jason Garnet (North Rotalton) who fired a career-low 72 on the first day and a 77 on the second to finish the two-day and 36-hole tourney second individually with 149 strokes.


In addition and on the varsity first team, junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference standout Scott Scrhroeder (Aurora) had rounds of 80 and 75 for a 155 total, junior All-OAC player Matt Kershner (Independence) had rounds of 79 and 79 for a 158 total, junior Weston Lucas (Columbis Station/ Christian Community School) had rounds of 76 and 83 for a 159 total and freshman Nick Infanti (Clarksburg, Md./ Clarksburg) had identical rounds of 81 for a 162 total.


In addition and playing as individuals, freshman Logan Dwelle (Sandusky/ Perkins) led the "B" team with rounds of 86 and 77 for a 163 total. He was followed by freshman Hunter Miller (Frankfort/ Adena) with rounds of 87 and 87 for a 174 total, senior Connor Duplin (North Canton/ St. Thomas Aquinas) with rounds of 87 and 88 for a 175 total, freshman Brad Blaine (Brooklyn) with rounds of 89 and 89 for a 178 total, senior Aaron Harden (Mentor) with rounds of 96 and 84 for a 180 total, and freshman Adam Morris (Grafton/ Midview) with rounds of 90 and 99 for a 189 total.


The Yellow Jackets return to action on Friday, April 22 when BW plays in the three-day and 72-hole OAC Championshipo Tournament in West Lafayette, Ohio at the River Greens Golf Club..
