ACADEMIC MAJOR: Sport Management

BW ATHLETICS INFORMATION:  Matt Kershner played his third season 2015-2016. The All-Ohio Athletic Conference player earned his third varsity letter.

ACADEMIC SUCCESS:  Matt carries a 3.4 grade point average.

ALL-OAC:  As a sophomore in 2014-2015, Matt placed seventh individually at the 2015 OAC Tournament to earn All-OAC honors.

THROUGH-THE-YEARS:   As a freshman in 2013-2014, Matt played his first season of golf and earned his first varsity letter. He played in 12 total tournaments and 23.5 rounds of 18 holes and averaged 79.66 strokes per round with a season-best round of 75 on four separate occassions. BW won its first-ever Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament title and qualified for the NCAA Division III National Tournament. At the OAC tourney, Matt placed 18th individually. The Yellow Jackets placed 36th of 41 teams at the NCAA Division III tourney.

As a sophomore in 2014-2015, Matt played his second season of golf and earned his second letter. He played in all 10 tournaments and 19 rounds and was third with 81.42 strokes per round. He had a season-low 74 on the second day of the fall The College of Wooster Gatorade Classic and in the final round of the OAC tourney in the spring. BW placed seventh at the OAC Tournament.

As a junior in 2015-2016, Matt played his third season of golf and earned his third letter. He played in all 11 tournaments and 20 rounds and ranked third on the team with a 78.25 stroke avereage. He had a career-low 73 in the second round of The College of Wooster Fall Gatorade Classic on September 6, 2015. Matt was 30th individually at the 2016 OAC Tournament. BW placed fifth as a team.

As a senior in 2016-2017, Matt is playing his fourth season of golf and hopes to earn his fourth letter.

HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION:   Matt Kershner grew up in Independence, Ohio and graduated from Independence High School.

Matt played four years of golf and lettered three times. He also played one year of baseball and one season of basketball and earned a letter in each sport.

In basketball, Matt was a first-team All-Chagrin Valley Conference selection.

In golf, Matt was a two-time first-team All-CVC player, the 2011 CVC Most Valuable Player (Division) and a District qualifier.  He also received an Academic letter (symbolic of a Scholar-Athlete award).
