BW Men’s Golf Team Places Fourth at Wooster Fall Tourney

ZOAR, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team finished fourth at the 2015 fall season-opening The College of Wooster Invitational at the Zoar Village Golf Course. It is the first of five fall tournaments for the Yellow Jackets.

The collegiate golf season is divided into a fall and spring schedule with the 2016 Ohio Athletic Conference and NCAA Division III Championships events contested during the spring season. In addition, five student-athletes competed as a team with the top four scores counting each day toward the team total.

BW placed fourth of 11 teams with a pair of rounds of 298 for a two-day total of 596 on the par-72 and 6,730-yard Zoar Village G.C. layout.

Junior All-OAC player Scott Schroeder (Aurora) led the way with rounds of 71 and 74 for a 36-hole total of 145 strokes. His 71 was a career-low and bettered a pair of 72's that he carded last fall.

Joining him on the five-player were junior All-OAC player Matt Kershner (Independence) with rounds of 76 and 73 for a 149-stroke total, freshman Drew Savage (Canal Fulton/ Canton Central Catholic) with rounds of 75 and 76 for a 151 total, freshman Jason Garnet (North Royalton) with rounds of 76 and 78 for a 154 total and freshman Logan Dwelle (Sandusky/ Perkins) with rounds of 81 and 75 for a 1456 total. 

Playing as individuals, junior Weston Lucas (Columbia Station/ Christian Community School) carded rounds of 80 and 74 for a 154-stroke total, senior Connor Duplin (North Canton/ Louisville St. Thomas Aquinas) had rounds of 79 and 85 for a 164 total, freshman Hunter Miller (Frankfort/ Dena) had rounds of 80 and 84 for a 164 total, freshman Jack Kyle (Bay Village/ Bay) had rounds of 82 and 83 for a 165 total, freshman Brad Blaine (Brooklyn) had rounds of 81 and 86 for a 167 total and freshman Adam Morris (Grafton/ Midview) had rounds of 88 and 93 for a 181 total. 

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on unday and Monday, September 13-14 when they travel to Alliance, Ohio to compete at the 2015 OAC Fall Invitational Tournament, hosted by the University of Mount Union, at the Alliance Country Club.
