Men’s Golfers Finish Third at Yellow Jacket Invitational

LAGRANGE, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team finished third of four teams at its own Yellow Jacket Invitational at the Grey Hawk Golf Course.

The Yellow Jackets fired a round of 324 on the par-72 and 6,687-yard Grey Hawk Golf Course layout. The University of Mount Union was the team champion with 317 strokes followed by John Carroll University with 319.   The College of Wooster finished fourth with a score of 340.

Junior Matt Kershner (Independence) led BW with a round of 79.

Joining him on the five-player team was junior Weston Lucas (Columbia Station/Christian Community School) as he fired a round of 81. Junior All-OAC Scott Schroeder (Aurora), who this week's OAC Men's Golfer of the Week, and freshman Drew Savage (Canal Fulton/Canton Central Catholic) each had rounds of 82.  Freshman Hunter Miller (Frankfort/Adena) rounded out the team scoring with an 86.

Playing as individuals, freshman Brad Blaine (Brooklyn) fired a career-low 79, freshman Logan Dwelle (Sandusky/Perkins) had an 80, freshman Jason Garnet (North Royalton) finished with an 87, freshman Jack Kyle (Bay Village/Bay) had a 94 and freshman Adam Morris (Grafton/Midview) shot a 109.

BW is back in action on Monday, September 21 when it travels to Shaker Heights to John Carroll University Fall Invitational at the Shaker Heights Country Club.
