Men’s Golf Team Finishes Fifth at 2016 OAC Tourney

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio-- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team had the second best round on the final day and finished fifth at the three-day and 72-hole 2016 Ohio Athletic Conference Championship Tournament at the River Greens Golf Club. This officially ends the season for BW.

The Yellow Jackets carded 302 strokes in the first round, 302 in the second, 307 in the third and 290 in the fourth and final round for a 72-hole total of 1,201 strokes on the par-72 and 6,668-yard River Greens G.C. layout to finish fifth of eight teams. Otterbein University was the team champion with 1,152 strokes. BW's round of 290 was a season-low and tied for the third lowest round by a team at this year's championships.


The Yellow Jackets were led by junior All-OAC standout Scott Schroeder (Aurora) with rounds of 75-71-81-74 for a 72-hole total of  301 strokes. He was followed by junior Weston Lucas (Columbia Station/ Christian Community School) with rounds of 73-73-82-75 for 303 strokes, freshman Nick Infanti (Clarksburg, Md./ Clarksburg) with rounds of 78-75-72-81 for 306 strokes, freshman Jason Garnet (North Royalton) with rounds of 84-83-75 and a team and career-low 68 for 301 strokes, and, junior All-OAC standout Matt Kershner (Independence) with rounds of 76-83-79-73 for 311 strokes. Lucas' first and second round 73s also were a career-low.
