Baseball Falls at Texas Lutheran

SEGUIN, Texas – The Baldwin Wallace University baseball team was defeated, 7-1, in a non-conference game versus Texas Lutheran University on Katt-Isbel Field.

BW (4-5) scored one run on five hits scoring its only run in the first inning. Texas Lutheran (8-7) scored two runs in the second, two in the fifth, one in the sixth, and two more in the eighth.

The Yellow Jackets offense was led by junior catcher Alex Marcum (Granville). Marcum went one for two with a double and one run batted in.

On the mound, freshman pitcher Brandon Lekan (Strongsville) was credited with the loss. Lekan pitched four and two-thirds innings, only allowed two earned runs, and tallied up a career-high five strikeouts.

BW is back in action when it travels San Antonio, Texas to take on the No. 4-ranked Trinity (Texas) University in a non-conference game at the Trinity Baseball Field. The first pitch is scheduled to be thrown at 9 p.m. EST.
