Zimmerman Earns Third Career OAC Hitter-of-the-Week Honor

BEREA, Ohio —Baldwin Wallace University and All-Ohio Athletic Conference senior shortstop Mark Zimmerman (Akron / Green) earned his third career OAC Hitter-of-the-Week honor for his strong performances last week.

Zimmerman batted .500 and tallied up seven runs batted-in (RBIs) in BW's four OAC wins last week. In game two against Ohio Northern University last Tuesday, he went 3-for-5 with four RBIs and stole two bases.

This season at the plate, Zimmerman is batting .352, has a team-high tying 24 RBIs and has stolen 14 bases. On the bump, he has won a team-high six games and has a 3.07 earned run average (ERA) for the Yellow Jackets.

Zimmerman is a three-time All-OAC selection and has been named to the All-Mideast Region team as an infielder and as a pitcher. As a sophomore he played in 50 games, which is tied for the school-record for games played in a single-season.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Wednesday, April 27 when they travel to Greensburg, Pennsylvania to play a single non-conference game versus Pitt-Greensburg at 4 p.m.
