LA CROSSE, Wis. – Baldwin Wallace University sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference distance runner Kelly Brennan (Akron/Walsh Jesuit) earned All-America status with a sixth-place finish in the 800-meter run at the 2018 NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse at the Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.
Brennan finished sixth in a time of 2:10.65 to earn her first career All-America honor. She is the first Yellow Jacket woman to earn All-American honors in the 800-meter run. To qualify for the finals, Brennan placed second in her heat in a time of 2:10.06, just 0.01 seconds off her school-record time. The top two finishers in each heat plus the next three fastest times advanced to the finals. The sophomore entered the championships ranked fifth in the 800.
This outdoor season, Brennan earned her first career Outdoor United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Great Lakes Region honor in the 800 along with two All-OAC honors in the 4x800-meter relay and the 1,500-meter run. This was her first appearance at the national level.
