Complete 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America Team (.pdf)

AUSTIN, Texas- Baldwin Wallace University sophomore All-American distance runner Kelly Brennan (Akron/Walsh Jesuit) has been selected to the Google Cloud Academic All-America Division III Cross Country/Track and Field team.

Brennan earns her first Academic All-America honor after being selected to the first-team. She advanced to the national ballot after being named first-team Google Cloud Division III Academic All-District 7 team. The sophomore, an accounting and finance double major, holds a 3.98 grade point average and is a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar, an Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection, a United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic selection and a member of the Alpha Lambda and Chi Alpha Sigma honoraries.

After a sixth-place finish in the 800-meter run at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Championships, Brennan earned All-America status. The distance runner broke her own BW outdoor school-record in the 800-meter run this season with a time of 2:10.05.  After finishing as the champion in the 800-meter run and registering a second place finish in the 1,500-meter run, she received All-Ohio honors and tabbed All-OAC accolades with a first place finish in the 4x800-meter relay and a second place finish in the 1,500-meter run. Brennan garnered USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region honors in the outdoors 800-meter run and in the indoor 5,000-meter run.

For Brennan's career, she has earned four outdoor All-OAC honors, three All-Ohio accolades, an indoor All-OAC honor and a total of four USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region selections.

The Yellow Jacket women's track and field team finished fifth in both the indoor and outdoor OAC championships.

BW's 111 all-time Academic All-Americans is more than any Division III college or university in the OAC or the state of Ohio and ranks 12th nationally in Division III.
