Kasper Earns Second Straight CoSIDA Academic All-American Honor

BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University women's track and field senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference jumper Erin Kasper (Amherst/Marion Steele) has been named to the College Sports Information Directors (CoSIDA) NCAA Division III Track and Cross Country Team.  

Kasper, who was named to the third-team a year ago, was a first-team selection this year. She graduated Summa Cum Laude and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science this spring. Kasper maintained perfect 4.0 grade point average (GPA) in her three years at BW after transferring from NCAA Division II Ashland University after her freshman year.  She was the recipient of the BW Academic Excellence Award as a junior and senior, which is given to the student with the highest GPA in that class.  Kasper was a NCAA Division III "Elite 90" finalist and was one of seven finalists that had perfect 4.0 GPAs. She was the 2017 Bonnie Raye Scholar Athlete Award recipient.  Kasper was a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar and a member of the Alpha Lambda, Dayton C. Miller and Chi Sigma Alpha honor societies.

She closed out her career this season as she finished tied for 10th in the high jump at the outdoor NCAA Championships and was the OAC outdoor champion in the high jump. Kasper recorded a career-best leap of five feet and seven inches in the high jump, which was tied for 11th best mark in the nation heading into the national meet.

In her three seasons, she was two-time All-OAC outdoor honoree and a three-time All-OAC indoor honoree.  Kasper earned All-American indoor accolades in the high jump as a part of BW's national championship team at the 2016 NCAA Indoor National Championships. She was also an All-Great Lakes Region selection in indoors and outdoors this year.
